TP e-fan question
TP e-fan question
So I finally broke down and ordered Troyer Performance's e-fan kit for my 01 Screw, now what do you recommend for a scanner to read the coolant temp? Not trying to spend another $400 either, but want a decent tool. LOL TIA

I used my digi odometer until I got my Xcal2. Just hold the trip button in, turn the key to the on pos., hold in till it starts to run the guage check. When it finishes the guage check, fire her up. You don't have to wait till it finishes, but that's what I do. Push the button again to skip to the next readout. I believe about the 8-10th. one reads degC for degrees celcius. It was REALLY close to what my Xcal2 read, but the Xcal reads farenheit 1 degree at a time, while the odometer does celcius so it skips a few degrees at a time. No big deal since you have quite a bit of room to play with as long as they are 10 degrees F apart.

Most of the time the large chain parts store have a nice lazer point and read digital electronic thermometer on sale, I picked one up at Advance auto parts for under $70 dollars, had it for several years and use it very often for all kinds of things, it's a tool that once you have it you can't believe you could be without it and it's very acurate.
I used a Scan Gauge when I installed mine. You can find one here:
