Engine Detailed, Running Rough
Engine Detailed, Running Rough
I had my 2000 F150 5.4L truck detailed yesterday. Engine compartment was also detailed. Now the engine runs rough, especially under load and acceleration. It's not doing it all the time, however. It runs fine at highway speeds on cruise. The shop that did the detailing is a respected local mechanics shop. He has removed the coils and inspected the plugs for any moisture, found nothing. What else should I ask that he check out. He is being very cooperative, but I'm afraid this may lead to an expensive repair.
Was any water, pressure cleaning done?
If yes, then you can have anything electrical be the problem.
Bet the shop won't do another Ford after yours.
It's now a matter of pulling all connectors apart and cleaning.
If there are no codes to point to the problem areas, you have no other choice but to look at everything.
The shop had no way of knowing they would get into a hassle like this, before hand.
Codes and CEL lite usually won't show up until after three drive cycles so you may or may not get any help from this until the truck is driven enough for the PCM to do it's checks and discover the problem area for code and CEL reporting.
Good luck on it.
