starting problems
once it starts it is a little rough on the idel. Idels around 700 to 800rpm. then kicks up to about 1100 after 5 min or so. once running it runs and gets me were im to go just a little hesitented on take offs.
I just went through a similar problem with my '01 Supercrew with a 5.4L V-8. It would stall on start up. I would turn the key, watch rpm come up to about 1000 and then straight down to 200 rpm and then it would finally stall. It would do this until I gave it gas at a steady rate for about 45 seconds. This only happened in the morning and after sitting more than 3 hours. It ran fine at all other times! I read some other posts on this website and decided to clean the IAC (Idle Air Control) Valve. This fixed the problem! Look through the next few pages or search for IAC and you'll find some good information on where the IAC is located and how to clean it. It took me about 30 mins. I would try this before you go to crazy on replacing other parts. Hope this helps.
