Squeaking from motor with belt off?

My wife's 99' 4.0 ohv explorer with 93.5k on it makes a intermittent squeak even with the serpentine belt off. I sprayed silcone on the crank/harmonic balancer to see if it was the crank position sensor assy scrapping. It is a hi pitched metallic scrapping sound. Not a grinding. I fear it made be a spun bearing, but oil psi is ok and motor runs fine. Any ideas? I would greatly appreciate any input.

No I do not have a mechanics stethescope. Never heard of a mechanics stethescope. Have you heard a engine with a spun bearing? I am guessing it is a grinding noise.

its a consistant squeel cause ur engine is spiing about 800 RPM at idle in park... u can use a screw driver as a stethescope, but it also could be ur water pump bearing going out that'd be my guess

I'd say the cam synchronizer shaft in the rear of the motor is going south. It'll turn the check engine light on and start setting cam sensor codes before too long. It's tough to see with the upper intake manifold on, but it's allllll the way in the back of the engine, where the distributor would be on a small block Chebby.
