mass air flow conversion

mass air flow conversion

i have some questions about mass air flow. i herd that if i want to get any mods on my 351W i need to get mass air flow is this ture? also what all does the kit come with? how much should i expect to spend?

summitracing.com should have one.. its kinda expenisve but u do need one for alot of the upgrades.

What kind of mods are you talking about?

Minor things like intake and exhaust you don't need anything. If you do anything more get a EEC TUNER and keep the speed density. You can make more power with SD but you have to tune it more accurately. Where as mass air in laymens terms tunes itself so to speak. Although it will need to be tuned at some point.

well i was thinking of getting intake and exaust than mabe a cam even heads. i don't know what should i get to get a bunch of power and in what order?

There are three major things you will have to deal with.
One is the cam change that SD is not too friendly with.
The other is SD fuel injection is what is known as batch fire or 4 injectors at a time instead if sequencial.
SD has only one OX sensor, Mass Air has two.
Mass Air change over changes all of that so wiring and a computer change takes place as well as some changes to some sensors and adding an air meter.
