Oh, you'll know sarcasm when I use it. Rolling eyes aren't the same as someone being sarcastic.

I'm sorry, maybe I read too much into his original post and made too large of an assumption -- which was, I assumed this was the easiest way to reproduce the noise as opposed to driving it and getting the noise while driving combined with every other moving noise of you and other people, which is what I do when I have service questions/problems with mine. Maybe it's because I'm used to having to solve the problems with way too many reproduction steps instead of the 2 steps which actually cause the problem and the other steps are "in the way factors".

It's funny, since I'm working on my truck (04) and my dad has left his (05) here for a few months and it's my replacement driver for now, both of them sound quite different for being the same truck; sure mine has more miles on it, but the engine and driving sounds are noticably different. Never had the chance to drive two nearly identical trucks so I find it very interesting.

I'm sorry too...I must have read to much into your posts:

"Yeah, why are you even driving...you know you're not supposed to turn the engine over at all for any reason"

"OMG, did I just break my engine?!?"

"at which point you're like "Oh my goodness, I am going to damage my vehicle by using it because it's 'cold'"

I feel so stupid misinterpreting these statements as sarcasm I can be such a putz sometimes.

I purchased my Xcal 2 from Mike Troyer...aka Superchips Distributor...and love it. The xcal 2 from Troyer comes with three custom tunes...I have an 87 octane performance, 93 tow and a 93 performance tune. He has you fill out a questionair and develops a set of custom tunes specific for your application. I am currently running the 93 tow tune and can't say enough about it...the go-pedal works like it should, the tranny shifts much better and the truck is faster. Call Troyer and get expert answers to your questions. Also disregard the price in the link I posted...forum members get a discount
