when is a good time to.....

switch to synthetic? I haven't changed the oil on her, yet she only has 2400 miles. Just wondering

i would wait til the 3rd oil change. the first one is at like 500 miles or so cuz the dealer wants to make sure theres no metal shavings from assembly.. the second should be at 3000 if i remember right.. i would run the reg oil one more time and change to syn at 6k

sheet! I didnt change my oil @ 500, I haven't even change it once I was just going to change it @ 3000

I changed to synthetic in my Lightning at 1000 miles, my Cobra at 500 miles, and my '04 Supercrew at 1500 miles. Not a problem with any of them as the factory installed oil is a synthetic blend...

yeh switch to it now... factory uses a synthetic blend that is thick and is designed to bond to any stray metal fragments from manufacturing and is flushed out after first 2 oil changes. i think for recomends switching to synthetic after ur 2nd oil change
