ac problem

i just drove from washington to arizona everthing was good untill i rolled down my window to feel how hot it was outside(the ac was working fine before)when i rolled up the window i noticed my ac was blowing hot air ..so i figure well i still have 3hrs left to drive with no ac oh well i'll figure it out later well i noticed something about a hundred miles later that the truck had drank half a tank on hundred miles and the power fell down well when i stoped to get gas i didn't notice a noise but then again 37's make you a little deaf when you first get off the interstate ....... the truck makes a whining sound and you can tell it's from the compressor but it seems to lock up or something and try to almost kill the motor for a split second the noise changes from having ac on and having ac off ...if anybody can help me i would appreciate it im only on leave for 2weeks i'd like to have my truck to drive ...thanks in advance

Sounds like the A/C compressor is coming apart inside. Needs to be replaced with Drier and flush out any metal that came out of the compressore. Replace the orfice tube too.

If the stuff got into the condensor, you'll have to replace it too. You can't get a GOOD flush of the condensor.
