If that's what you consider "low mpg" for a #5000 brick then get a Honda!! ha, ha......
Consider yourself very LUCKY if that's the average mpg you are getting with an F150.....
On a side note, that's about what I get with mine.... I have an 18 mile drive to work each day and 18 mile drive home.... 15 miles of that is hwy each way. If I go out to lunch, that's another 6 miles or so round trip. I get an ave of 15 mpg.
On a recent 250 mile round trip, 99% hwy run, I made it a point to stay at around 60 mph max and I got 18 mpg on that single run! I've made the same run and ran at 65 mph max and I got around 16 mpg.....
Now, when I hitch up the trailer in my sig, I'm happy when I get 10 mpg!!

With my '03 Supercrew 4X4, 5.4, 3:73 LS, I'm averaging around the 16mpg mark. 22 miles, one way, to work. Mixture of rural roads and city driving.
Stock everything.
And from what I've read here over the last several weeks, I'm feeling really good about that.
These trucks are big and heavy. 'Specially these Supercrews.
I do like the way they handle, the comfort, and the power.

Let me just say one more thing on this subject, how you drive has a large affect on mpg.
As an example with my truck, over the course of 17 tank fulls, I've had anywhere from 15.3 to 16.7 mpg. With the average being 15.9.
Now, I let my wife use the truck while her Odyssey was in the shop and when I calculated mpg from the tank she used, it only came to 14.3 mpg. I was shocked as this tank didn't *fit* into what I was seeing through all the others. It boiled down to her driving habits. Her foot slams both pedals. :o

The 93 octane is a complete waste of money.
I need to replace my upstream O2's and do a throttle body cleaning. I think this might improve my gas milage...we'll see.
dsp921: The 93 octane gas my be required due to quagmeyer having a 1715 Programmer. You are right though, using 93 when not required is a waste of money.
Three of my superchip programs require that I use 93 octane.
