Exhaust Leak or Paranoia?

Ok, with this new truck it seems that I am just looking for something wrong. Being the extreme perfectionist that I am, things bother me on the level of often being unhealthy.

The latest "problem" I seem to have discovered is what I would call a very faint "hissing" sound under acceleration. The sound seems to be more closely related to the amount of throttle applied than RPM-related. The best way I can describe it is as if someone is saying "shhh!" very quietly. It is very faint and virtually undetectable unless you listen for and try to hear it. Is what I am hearing just the moving parts of a motor or in fact some kind of leak. It is not pinging or knocking, but rather sounds like air escaping from or being drawn into somewhere. I looked briefly for exhaust leaks but didn't see any upon first glance. I have been experiencing some faint pinging under load lately and intend to clean my TB and EGR ports soon to help remedy that. Is it possible that the wooshing I am hearing is somehow related? Should I just drive and forget about it? I understand how corny and obsessive this sounds, but any input is appreciated.
Thanks
Brian

might just be intake noises like air boving accross the MAF or air moving across the throttle plate or the IAC. but its likely not and exhaust leak u can usualy smell and exhaust leak but u can have a friend put the brake on and give it a litle gas to put it under load and check for any leaks along he manifold. or check ur cat back to see if u have an exhuaust leak. but its prolly nothing u should also check and vacume lines for leaks

Thanks for the response.

I have done some searching and found that many people seem to have noises and such, but also CEL and rough idle/hesistaion/missing. My truck idles smoothly and runs fine with no CEL or codes. I'm planning on cleaning the EGR and throttle body and replacing the fuel filter when I get some time( hopefully this weekend) and maybe that will make an improvement. If not, I suppose I should forget about it. I know its hard to diagnose noises over the internet, but again, any input is appreciated

Many time these trucks are also none to have a slight noise such as you described that come from the injectors. Just my 2 cents worth.
