I just purchased my first Ford, a 95 F150 4.9 5 speed 4wd, and have a question regarding the gas tanks. When I picked it up both tanks were empty. I put some gas in both tanks but it will only run when I select the rear tank. When I turn the key to the on position with the rear tank selected I can hear a fuel pump running I can't hear a pump when I do the same with the front tank. So I'm guesing the pump in the front tank isn't working. I havn't been able to get a manual yet so I'm still a little in the dark on this. Is there a fuse, or relay, or shut off, or something I should check out first before I asume that its the intank pump is dead.

Just see if there is power to the pump. More then likely the pump is bad.
