Restore Engine Restorer....Work??
Restore Engine Restorer....Work??
This stuff do anything or is it just another company trying to make a buck off the non-mechanically inclined?? Just saw a couple ads for it in my Sports Illustrated and it got me thinking.
Sounds to good to be true....because it is! No engine needs additives when using a quality motor oil. Some additives cause excessive foaming when added to motor oil...LUCAS...actually causing loss of lubrication.
Stick with plain old motor oil

at best its only a temporary fix and none of these products live up to what they claim (snake oil)

I have ran the Engine Restorer in my dad's truck my old ranger and now i'm running it in my current truck! I have used the product on every oil change without any negative results yet! I haven't noticed and positive results either so it could just be a waste of money but like I said my dad and I both run it in our trucks without any noticeable harm done to the engines!
Restore uses copper and lead as a burnishing agent to fill excessive gaps in parts. It wears as fast as it is deposited as these metals are soft. It alos is a wear agent causing even more wear in an engine. If you have a beater that's just about to fall down, it can be useful. For any other engine, it is a hazard to it's health.
