Help with P0171 and P0174 System too lean codes.

I've had a problem with my idle being a little rough. Now i'm getting two codes, P0171 and P0174 System too lean bank 1 and 2.

Anyone know what I should be looking into to fix it?

Thanks for your help..

I would start by looking for vacuum leaks.

Check your PCV line all the way from valve cover to intake.. Pay special attention to the rubber elbows, they are bad to rot out and cause a leak.

When both banks have lean codes it is usually due to either a vacuum leak affecting both sides or the MAF sensor has a malfunction. Check PCV and other vaccum devices. Check for vacuum leaks in the area between the MAF and the throttle body. There is usually a crankcase breather hose that attaches to the intake air charge and if this has been left disconnected then lean codes are the result. Also see if there are any holes in the plastic air charge assembly. Check for loose or missing clamps. If all checks out good then the MAF should be tested. It is common for the sensor hot wires to become contaminated resulting in an "insulated" sensor. Debris from a dirty air filter or from an air filter box that does not seal properly can contaminate this sensor. The MAF sensor requires dissassembly for cleaning. I use brake clean to clean them.
