1997 Ford Taurus 60,000miles, 3.0 engine

For the first time this light has popped on. We just had a new battery installed at advanced auto. Could installing a new battery cause this light?

The manual states it may need to have the emission control system checked.

Any advise greatly appreciated!

Normally a trouble code brings the light on.
Go back and have them look at the code output number and the reference to it.
