Where is the temp gauge sending unit on an '87 F150 4.9L I6?

My truck is an '87 F150 4.9L Straight 6

I know there is a sending unit (2 wires) on the thermostat housing, but is it the one for the gauge or for the computer?

My temp gauge is not working at all and I ohmed the sending unit in the thermostat housing and got 47K ohms cold and 3.2K ohms @ normal operating temp- is this a normal range.

I've already swapped out the ammeter/temp gauge set because the old ammeter gauge wasn't working either, but is now. The temp gauge still doesn't work, but I don't know if I'm checking the proper sending unit (the one on the thermostat housing).

Never mind...

I bought a Haynes repair manual and figured it out myself.
