6.2L Hurricane engine update?
6.2L Hurricane engine update?
Forgive me if this has been posted in the last 3 months. I do recall this was a busy topic back in January when it was announced Ford had at least temporarily shelved the Hurricane engine program and most importantly the all important 6.2L V8 for the F-150.
Now I recall if you read one of the writeups at the time (perhaps it was @ detnews.com) it was shelved for a quarter, but not forever.
Well it's been at least 4 monhts since then, so does anybody outhere have any news?
I'm repeating myself here, but I wonder how Ford plans to market the F-150 in 18 months when the then new Chevy/GM have updated powertrains, Toyota too and we all know Dodge and Nissan will not give up on the battle. : Before anyone jumps down my throat, I know HP rating is not everything balh, blah, blah and FYI I own a '04 SCrew FX4 so my money is with Ford here....

Update on the 6.2. Its still in R&D Its not dead however there are no plans to release it before 2007 per a conversation that took place today with a Ford upper management recently. This is based on second hand information but a very trustworthy source
Supposedly Ford is looking at a Next Generation 2007 Lightning that will have the ability to push the largest and heaviest 1/2 ton to date to speeds quicker then any other
