Alternator Question

Alternator Question

I have a 1998 F-150 5.4L with 54,000 miles and I wanted to check the voltage on my alternator. I was wondering if its possable to change the brushes on them too. If so could someone please send me a like to where I could fing them. Thanks for the help

you dont want to play with a alternator....the regulator is inside and everything ..get a new one and trade the old one in for the core charge...as far as testing i use a fluke guage...just touch red to pos and black to neg and the output voltage should read about 14.7 volts on the meter...zap!

Yes you can change the brushes out on them.

Im sure parts stores like O'Reilly's or AutoZone would carry replacements.
