Motorcraft Spark Plugs

I'm finally getting around to changing my plugs in my '97 4.6. I have a set of Motorcraft awsf32pp on the shelf that I bought at the dealer a while back, and just noticed these plugs have no type of compression washer on them. Is this right? Most plugs I'm framiliar with have some sort of washer. I've never done plugs on a Ford and want to make sure I have evertyhing ready to go....Thanks.

Ford plugs are tapered and don't use compression washers. When you are looking at the plug from the side, at the top of the threaded area, the metal should taper out instead of being flat where the plug tightens against the head.

Good luck it is a pain to change them. Some say to remove the fuel rails but I don't. Just take your time and allow yourself plenty of time (a couple of hours is reasonable). Don't use anti seize on the threads when you install the plugs. As mentioned before, watch out for the dreaded black hole under the intake. If you drop something, you have a 40% chance of recovering it.
