Idle Spead Control

I have a 1998 F150 and it tends to stick in high idle. Had it checked at Auto Zone and came up with error #1506. Now they told me it could be several things wrong. Anyone have any ideas? Any help would be great! Not a top notch mechanic.

Idler Air Control maybe (IAC). Ive seen it mentioned alot and have changed mine recently. Real easy fix. takes about 5 minutes to take out and replace. Most time consuming thing is buying it. Cost about 45 bucks at auto zone. My truck stuck at about 2000 rpm's when i was going about 60 and i changed about 5 things before it finally fixed. (IAC, TPS, O2 sensors, Cleaned the throttle body, and finally cleaned whole plenum, including EGR ports.) runs like a champ now. I also read up on Seafoam and used a can of that but since i had already cleaned all the carbon out, i didnt get the full effect of it. Good luck and keep us updated.

Changing the IAC seems to have taken care of the problem. No trouble after replacing it. Also put in a can of Seafoam. Truck seems to run a great deal smoother all the way around. Thanks for the help.
