Fuel Pump Inertia Switch - Disconnect

For the purpose of theft prevention I wish to install an on / off toggle swith in series with the fuel pump inertia switch so I can remove power from the fuel pump when desired. 2001 F-150 4.6.

Questions I have, 1) Will this cause a fault code to be recorded each time I flip the switch if the key is on? or off?
2) Any downsides to doing something like this?

Also, have thieves figured out a way to start this truck without the programmed keys?

thanks

I think it would be easier to use the fuel pump relay under the hood...

The PATS system is not too difficult to bypass if someone really wants your truck.

I've tried three times to post here.

Try four switches in a row that control the fuel, ignition, starter and horn. That will slow him down and confuse him, especilly when he hits the horn one and it blows.

Tne inertia switch is not part of the computer system so it will not log a fault.
