Minor oil leak - Oil filter location?

Hello,

I have a 2003 F150 Crew. Odd minor problem that I just can’t see. On the passenger side I am getting a small amount of oil leaking on the frame under the fire wall to about 8” forward of the fire wall. Neither the oil level nor any other fluid level has changed so I think it is a small amount.

I have had a recent neck surgery and can’t get under the truck very well.

Son I am asking. Is the oil filter on the passenger side of the engine? I am thinking it may be a little loose.

If it is not any idea what the leak could be. I want to find out about it before I take it in for warranty work and they forget to fix it.

Thanks,
Jeff

What engine do you have? In the 5.4 the oil filter is on the driver's side, down under the power steering pump (sorta).

I think it is the 5.4.
They don't give you any choice.

Any choice in what?

In any case, I believe all 3 of the engines available have the oil filter on the driver's side of the engine (on the 5.4 I know it is).

The modular engines use the same block. The filter is on the drivers side unless it has a remote filter.
A leak at the right rear of the engine was a common thing with the early year trucks. the head gasket leaked. If its under warranty then get it fixed. you should get it checked out because it might be simple to fix now but serious later.
