Smell Coolant Burning from Exhaust

I have a 98 F150 with the 6 cylinder engine. It has 65,000 miles on it and I can smell burnt coolant from the exhaust.

Is this just a head gasket? Warped head? Is there a typical problem that this engine has?

Thanks in advance.

A guy I coach with just had the same problem. I believe he said his intake was cracked and the coolant was mixing into the crankcase. He was blowing coolant straight out the tailpipe. He just picked his up from the shop yesterday. Good luck.

It sounds like your lower intake gaskets are going bad allowing coolant to seep into either # 1or # 4 cylinders,or both.If not repaired soon your engine will hydro-lock!
Go to the V6 forum and do a seach on "hydro-lock" and "lower intake gaskets". You need to get it to a shop ASAP!
