Will the Gatorback off of my 98 4.6 work on the new 05 5.4 I bought yesterday? I asked this in the 2004-2005 Forum but only yielded 2 replies and neither of them answered my question. Hopefully I'll get more replies here.

 

The part number on the gatorback belt for the 5.4 is 4061020. If it's the same part number then it should work.

 

One difference MAY be 6-rib and 8-rib design of the engine. My '99 4.6 has 8-rib design; the 8-rib will not fit 6-rib as the belt is wider.

I don't know about the length or circumference differences in the 2 years/engines, sorry. But you could go to the parts store and compare the 2 belts side-by-side. Just a thought.
