skipping sound
99 5.4 w/ 153000 miles and between 1000 and 2000 while easing the gas it has a studder or up and down grumble. only does it when easing on the gas not any other time. any info?

Is this during an OD upshift?
Need to seperate engine fault from a trans fault known as shudder.

it does it in neutral and while in first gear. if you are creeping along you will see the rpm's going up and down rapidly and hear it grumble and bubble from the exhaust
