Question supercharger

i am wanting to install a superchareger to my 99 5.4 4x4 for increased power and improved fuel eco. . i heard alot about vortech and them blt on kit but need any input on you guys that already have one and which one is the best for me to use. i drive about a hundred miles to and from work and want to pep it up a little. my motor has 152000 and dont want to rebuil the motor until i have to so i need a charger for all around use.

You better make sure that the engine is strong enough to handle a supercharger. With the high mileage on that motor the slightest weakness will show up as soon as you put boost to it. The result will be the rebuild your trying to avoid.

As for the mileage increase don't count on it. You will have to use premium fuel to prevent detonation under boost.

You don't want a centrifigal type for all around use.
Unless your sure the high milage motor is still in good condition, it is foolish to put a blower on, beat on it and lose the motor fairly quickly and have to still bebuild/replace anyway.
The old motor will begin to bleed oil from the higher crank case pressures and gasket that are hard and dried up.
It's a pay me now or pay me later situation with what may be a short time in between.
I run a Kenne Bell on 5L that now has 150k.
This is my informed position on your desires, as stated.
