Hard Starting

I just got an 02 Screw with a 5.4. Sometimes, like maybe 4 out of 10 times, it starts hard. It almost fires right away, then you have to crank on it for about 5 seconds. I am going to try a new fuel filter tonight. Any ideas?

See what happens after the fuel filter is replaced.

A fuel pressure guage would be a useful indicator of whether your problem is related to fuel delivery or not.

If the problem continues after filter replacement, the guage is the next diagnostic step.

No starting problems since the filter change. Looks like that took care of it! Hopefully it helps the fuel economy also! (12mpg blows!!)

Thanks all.
