missing out
missing out
just got my truck out of the shop for some u joints and rear end crap when the check engine light came on. My mechanic told me that he thought I had a miss in the motor. He was right because you can obviously hear it in the tail pipes. As I was driving home which is an hour away because I am in college it got worse and worse. The truck actually started having a lundging feeling to it. Kinda made me fee sea sick. Is this normal when a truck misses out. I am just going to take it to ford and have them hook it up and see what is going on. It is a 97 F150 5.4 triton. anyone know how much ford would charge to put new injectors on? makes me wish I had my old 79 f250 with the 351 cleveland in it. I knew how to work on that!!
You probably don't want to know what Ford would charge to put injectors in. I would guess that is not the problem anyway. You need to find out what the code is. There are parts stores that will do this at no cost or you can buy a reader for about $200 and be able to do it your self any time. It cost that much for 2 trips to Ford service just to put it in the computer. Check the spark plug bores for water/antifreeze, especially the back 2 on the passenger side - the heater hoses are directly above and do have a tendancy to leak. If so then the coil on the plug may have shorted out and be shot.
