Engine governor

I am looking for a way to govern F-series engines so I can limit top speed on the vehicles in our fleet.

Hey I live in Hagerstown too!!

I am not sure about a governer but I used to workin the GPS/AVL industry and there are a ton of products out there that can track speeding (Reports/alarms/etc)

You can also check with Hagerstown Ford. They are the best Ford dealer hands down that I have ever worked with. The service manager is really cool and will prolly be able to help you out!

If you cant find what your looking for let me know.

Good luck-

Thanks for your reply.

What does AVL stand for, and could you please list some of these products that you mentioned?

Hagerstown Ford was not much help when I called; they only knew to refer me to aftermarket products.

Greetings from just a little farther East (Manchester, MD).

For our trucks the governor is a part of the program. Give Mike Troyer a call; he should be able to give you some advice. Don’t lower it too low or you might effect the ability to emergency maneuver.

Trimble
Navtrack
Verizon Wireless (They have their own AVL solution)
Insight Communications
There are hundreds more!

How many trucks do you have?

There are chips at AutoZone that plug in to the OBDII port under the dash. They come with the software and cable to hook them to you computer and gives you complete diagnostics of engine performance as well as how it was driven. If your drivers know it is there and that you will beable to see what, how they are driving your trucks they will be more cautious and aware of what they are doing. I can't for the life of me remember what they are called but they have a website too. LOL Like that's aot of help with out the name...

PS They also claim that they can be used to lower insurance premiums by displaying that you (ir your drivers) are a safe drivers.
