Thats fine. Nobody has to beleive me. I was just letting people know that some cars respond better that others. The 03/04 cobra is hurting for intake and exhaust mods. Just a magnaflow cat back took me to 410hp from the 388 with just the k&n. Go to svtperformance.com and see how well the cobras need the flow.

Cool M P G

Here's a product for all of you to try for awhile to get an increase in mileage. FP60 (FUEL POWER 60) at www.lubecontrol.com
I am not advertizing here or anywhere else, just try it. I have gained mpg from its use from a Pathfinder and my pickup. It'll cost about $1.40 a tank full.(20 gal tank) with one ounce per 5 gallon of gas.

My gut says that 10K miles between oil change is to long so that is probably why I am leary of the fuel additive too. Between my dad and grandpa driving in my head to change the oil every 2K-3K miles from an early age plus the old saying if it sounds to good to be true then it probably is. With those combined together, I find it hard to belive them making those claims. Especially with out any number to back them up.

So what you are saying now is that you got that increase with a K&N AND a cat back?

1 year ago, I drove cross country in my 01 5.4L SCrew 4x. Just about 2800 miles in 3 days. My truck had 46k when I started and stock except for the K&N. I averaged 13.5mpg for the trip. My high was 14.7mpg and my low was 12.3mpg. Every time I do check my mileage, it is right around 13 every time.
If you look up on fueleconomy.gov, you will see that the Ford 5.4L 4x F150 and Excursions have the worst economy of all trucks.

I could change vehicles to get better fuel mileage, but I just love my truck. Its worth the extra $1k a year in fuel costs to me.

Very soon, I will be installing my Street Smart Design FFS2001-F - Carbon Fiber Cold Air Kit. It will replace my current drop in K&N. Not that I am expecting an increase in economy, I will certainly post if there are any.
