Speed ctrl?

My speed control will not work? It will not come on, but all the lights on the steering wheel works fine, I checked the fuses and they are ok. The relays seem to work because they are combined with other features and they work. So I have no idea. Can someone give me an Idea of what to do? or what to look for?
Thank you
oh one other thing: when I press cruise on and set cruise or cancel at the same time the horn activates? lol. maybe I have wires crossed?

Are the Canada trucks under recall too? Our Cruise control is under recall for faulty switch...

This is not an issue with the recall switch.

Most likely, the original poster has a faulty clockspring given the precise symptoms listed..

Arkas,

Have you ever removed the wheel? I could be a faulty Set Switch.

Regards

No I havent removed the steering wheel and yes there is a recall on the trucks here in Canada too, but no parts will be in stock until mid April!!! I do know that the switch itself is a little hard to depress, maybe thats my problem.
Thanks for the replies!

The recall has nothing to do with the cruise control functioning properly (other than spontaneously causing your truck to catch fire).

Something else is wrong.

Don't feel bad our parts won't be in for a few months either...The people that I know that have taken thiers in to the dealer... The dealer disconnected thier cruise until it comes in....

I use mine to much so I'll risk it...

the risk of fire is when the cruise stops working!!!! FYI

Read the article, it never says anything about the problem occuring when the switch stops working, it seems the problem is when the cruise control is deactivated by depressing the brake pedal.

There is a connector that goes to the master cylinder you can disconnect, I saw some pictures in a few threads (maybe in the L forum?)

Exclamation

I wouldn't recommend pulling the steering wheel off yourself. the airbags in there can be deployed and then you are looking at some money for a new one. you have to be very carefull when working around any part of the airbag system.... even disconnecting power from them can cause them to go off.
