freeze plugs

i have a 86 F-150 with a 302 in it...well i was on my way to my mothers house to help her move a door and when i got out there i notice i was leaking anti-freeze well i got up under the hood and noticed it was coming from the back of the engine so i know it wasn't the water pump or any of the hoses so i started looking on the drivers side by the header in between plug ( from front to rear of the engine on the driver side ) 2-3 is where the anti-freeze was coming out. what i'm wonder is how hard is that to change or is that something that i should take to a garage and have someone else do and if so how much does something like that cost..........

thank you in advanced for any advice.

john

My friend has a 96 4.0 v6 and he had the same thing, his freeze plugs went after he was running threw the woods. to make a long story short he got it towed to a friends shop and they just moved the trans to get in and replace the plug. He said it wasnt to hard.
