Moisture in the engine

About a month ago, I went to change my oil, when I took the oil cap off, I noticed a brown sticky substance on the cap, and down the shaft leading into the engine. This is obviously water and oil mixing. I kept an eye on my anti-freeze for another month, to see if it was dropping, signaling a crack in my head gasket. It did not drop, and now I have no idea how moisture is building up in my engine. Does anyone have any similar story, or anyone give me hints on how to fix.

I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Normal, only if you do short distance drives (under 10 miles).
It takes time to heat the oil enough to boil off the moisture that collects during the night or when the weather changes.
If you regularly drove longer distances you wouldn't see it.

Unhappy moisture

I'm having this same problem with my 91 f150. Have got the 5.0l engine. I've got alot of tan colored goop in the oil cap/breather line/air filter box area. So much so it completely plugged up my air filter. Cooland level is fine. Could this be a pvc problem? Also have a check engine light on. Where do I find pvc. Or what else should I look for? Trucks sometimes is hard to start like its being choked but otherwise once its running it idles and goes down the road just fine. Thanx Dave

Sounds like PVC.
