thanks to all who posted anything about a noisy metal PCV valve vs. the stock (quiet) plastic ones.

i replaced mine with a new one but it was metal. well i never figured it would be the metal PCV valve making all the noise. i was messing around with it today and i would rev the engine and heard a weird noise then took the pcv valve out and held it shut, then rev'ed the engine again and the sound was gone.

looks like i got to find a plastic one to put back on.

takes care of one noise now i have to deal with my morning startup tap.
