Mac Performance

Dear ford-man-steve , Check out the posts in the V6 Section about air intakes from "HillbillyFord" Some guys say "MAC" is the best, others like the "Airraid". My personal opnion is all they do is make intake noise, and that makes you think ur getting more power, and the air filter they use on these intakes have a much bigger micron opening that allows bigger dirt particals to pass thru,BUT!!!! listen to me, they have MANY MORE layers of filtering material that the dirt has to pass thru, that traps the dirt. The way I look at it someone is getting rich off you guys by charging you guys over $200 for a cheap piece of metal pipe, with a air filter. Thats my opnion, I know someone is going to dissagree.

Many manufacturers make outrageous claims about their intakes, 20hp from an intake? You will feel a little difference but don't expect too much. Intake and exhaust mods work at high rpm's and do little at lower rpm's where you do most of your driving. As for the throttle body, save your money. You won't see much in a stock engine, they perform better on engines with blowers and you have to shave the intake opening to match the t/body opening. Your best bang would be a programmer such as Superchips.
