Full Line Of Mobil Products At Wal-Mart?

Well, after a trip to Wal-Mart this afternoon, it definately does look like their relationship with Motorcraft is no more. Just a few cases of 10W-30 left and that was it.

However, I noticed that they have greatly expanded their line of Mobil products to encompass all of the new oils that Mobil has recently introduced. In the past, the Wal-Mart in my area only carried the Mobil 1 product.

Here is the line-up I saw:

Mobil Clean 5000 @ $1.68 per quart. (Dino)
Mobil Clean 7500 @ $2.18 per quart. (Synthetic Blend)
Mobil 1 @ $4.53 per quart. (Full Synthetic)
Mobil 1 Extended Performance @ $5.36 per quart. (Full Synthetic)

However, I didn't see a 5W-20 weight stocked in any of the lines, although they may not be fully inventoried with the new product as of yet (?).

Up until now, 0w20 was Mobil's replacement for 5w20.

So you can use 0w20 or when it comes out you can use 5w20.

Actually, there was no 0W-20 on their shelves either. Essentially, there was no "factory-recommended" weight available for most new Ford, Honda, and (some) Chrysler vehicles in the Mobil line-up. However, I'm sure this will change as soon as the new weights begin working their way into the inventory system.

Wow! Those are good prices! Up here in Canada (Alberta) at Walmart for 1 litre of Mobil 1 5W-30 or 10W-30 is over $7! ( full synthetic ) So basically an oil change in my Expy with a Motorcraft filter runs me almost $60! For 1 litre of 5W-30 Quaker State (dino) is $2.68.

Even more....

Hi Smiggs;

Hah! Got you beat.

Amsoil Series 2000 0w-30 is $12.99 CDN @ good 'ol Crappy Tire, and a K&N HP-2010 is $17 CDN @ PartsSource.

Haven't found a reliable source for the Amsoil oil filter yet, or I'd be using that too.

So, an oil change costs me $109.18 CDN (taxes included).

Good thing I only haveto change it yearly ( but with 3 filter-only changes ), as per Amsoils' recommendations.

Thank God for Amsoil quality and extended drain intervals!

It's great to be a Canadian, eh?

Cheers!
