Question electric fan conversion

first of all, does this mod yeild any noticeable power gains? second, does the 4.6 require a large/high flow fan to keep it at a decent temp. or is it a naturally cooler running engine? third, how much would a whole kit cost vs. piecing together a kit?

I looked at using the fan out of a Lincoln. You can pick one up for around $100. This fan pulls about 50 amps. After checking out all the parts needed for this, I bought the Flex-a-lite kit for may truck. It pulls 30 amps at 100%. The fans start at 60% and only go to 100% if needed.

I have a 4x4. With this kit I was able to add an auto fan off switch for water crossing.

The kit took about an hour to install.

I installed the Troyer dual fan kit, this kit is top line and has seperate controlls for each fan, if anything fails you always have the other for backup won't let you down. One of the best mods on my truck!!!

A few guys dyno'd their trucks before & after the fans. I recall gains of 16 hp and like 20 lb-ft of torque, something like that. I think if you do a search you'll find the posts.

Biggest draw for me is that my AC blows very cold even when I'm not moving. That, and my engine isn't as loud most of the time, because the fans don't run all the time.
