Tachometer

Hey,
I've got a '90 F-150 Custom with a 4.9 Liter Inline 6. Its a 5-Speed so i want to get a tach since they were cheap and didnt put them in customs. Does anyone know if its possible to rip the gage cluster out of a Lariet and install it in my truck since lariets came with tach's? Are there wires somewhere back there? Also, what about if i want an aftermarket tach, does anyone know what it entails to hook that up?

Thanks

Fill the subject line aaauuugghh

You'd have to look at wiring schematics for both setups to be sure they're compatable. If your truck did not come with a tach, I don't think(not sure either) the harness going from firewall to engine has the tach wire included. If you went with an aftermarket tach, you'd spend an hour or so installing it. Pretty simple and straight forward-just take the time to read the instructions, and you should have no problems.
