Engine misses after snow...
I have a 01 SuperCrew with a 5.4..
After 2 days of driving in deep snow (2 feet) on my road the engine misses now pretty bad, and the check engine light came on today... It's been 5 days now since it has sat inside and thawded out. I assume there's water in something since the engine was packed in snow..
Is there water between the COP and plug and will it dry out on it's own or do I have to take the coils off?????
This really pizzes me off all my old trucks never acted like this with wires on them....quite an advancement these new fangled Coils and all

Dear Beardoge Last weekend we had a blizzard, blowing snow 50 mph winds, and i lifted the hood on my truck and i couldnt see the engine, it was covered with snow, I had the front end parked facing the wind. It started right up, it growled and missed for a little bit untill it warmed up, then it run fine. 2003 4x4 4.2 engine. The only problem I did have is the heater box filled up with snow, caused the blower motor to lock up, and it blew the fan resistor out, its driving me crazy how the snow got into my heater box.
My Pops had a problem like this. . . . only we live in Southern California. . . The A/C line in the engine compartment was dripping condensation onto a coil pak. . . it eventually got up underneath the coil and started to cause a miss. . . The fix was to replace the coil and lube well with dyelectric grease. If you were thowing a check engine light, and have a code reader, it should tell you what cylinder(s) are misfiring and that will give you a place to start. Hope this helps!?!?!?!?
Okay, dude at autozone said cylinder number 8 was misfiring...
He thinks a fuel injector is bad, Jeez quite the qualified people they have there, I told him it started with the snow and it only has 65 K on it, may as well be talking to the wall...
Anyway could somebody tell me which one is cylinder 8 the miss seems to be getting better so I may wait a couple of more days before I attempt to take a coil pack off.
