Unhappy 5.4L stalls at idle

98 Navigator 4X4 5.4L V8, 105,000 miles
For several weeks I was getting OBDII code 171 indicating a lean condition. I had no drivability problems. I finally resolved the problem by repairing a vacuum leak on a line going to a small coolant switch/sensor? located on the passenger side of the throttle body. I reset the OBDII using my OBDII code reader, and the check engine light no longer comes on. Now, however, the engine stalls at idle when it reaches operating temp.
Had the OBDII gotten used to the vacuum leak and reprogrammed itself accordingly? If so, how can I get it back to factory spec? Can I switch it off/on a bunch of times?
I'm not suspecting the IAC as there's no rough idle. Also the IAC is located in an awkward position and I may have to bend some wrenches to get at those 8mm bolts.
Any suggestions or advice will be most welcome. Thanks

disconnect the neg battery post and let it sit WITH the headlights on for about 20 min. then hook everything back up and the pcm should learn the new settings, i was clean out the tb and iac just to make sure. i did mine the other day which surprised the heck outta me! i have never seen one get so dirty! haha but cleaning it cant hurt it at all so give her a shot.

Thumbs up

Thanks for your suggestion. I unhooked the neg. batt. cable as you suggested (with the light switch on). The problem seems to have gone away. I'm sure I'll be cleaning the TB and IAC in the near future, but just deactivating the computer for a while seems to have done the trick. Thanks again.
