Cleaning the IAC

I want to clean this IAC.

How should I go about it?

Should I immerse the cast metal portion containing the piston assembly in a container of carb cleaner and then scrub the piston assembly with a small brush?

I assume I do not want the cylinder assembly (housing the electrical connector) to get wet.

Thanks

Never Mind

Tried a search again and came up with this humourous and very informative post on cleaning EGR, throttle body and IAC.

Spray carb or throttle body cleaner into it and let it sit. Empty it and wipe it with a clean rag. Reset the PCM so your truck will relearn its idle strategy.
