Fuel filter
do a search on "fuel filter" there are some good threads with pictures and everything.
You need to buy a tool to remove it. The metal one cost more, but works better. It is pressureized, so you need to disable the fuel pump and run the truck until it stalls.
On the right kick panel there is a motion switch. Disconnect the wire clip, with the engine running, to disable the fuel pump.

You don't have to disable the fuel pump to de-pressurize the fuel system - there's a schrader (sp) valve on the passenger side fuel rail, with a cap on it - looks just like a tire air valve stem/cap. Just remove the cap, and take a small screwdriver to press in on the valve core - the pressure will release.
I didn't even bother when I changed mine, didn't spill much fuel.
Oh, yeah, the tools are pretty inexpensive, can be bought at most parts houses, and are indespensible when it comes to this job.
Good Luck!

Next time you change filters, look into Baldwin filters. Theirs is considerably larger than the oem replacements I've seen. The bracket won't fit around the filter, I used zip ties to hold it fast.
