Question Cold weather...poor idle...then stalls

Colder weather has arrived (10-20 degrees) and today the truck has developed an annoying habit of occasionally idling down when I come to a stop, then stalling. It starts right back up to only do it again...or not. The stalling is intermittant and only did so when the engine had warmed up.

Any thoughts and / or fixes?

Thanks in advance...Scott

yet another seemingly clogged IAC/EGR valve problem. Not too hard of a fix if you like to wrench on your truck a little. Had the exact same problem a month ago with my 4.6 w/ 73,000 miles. Do a search here in the Engines forum, and look for my thread, it should be between pages 5 and 10 by now, just a guess, Id do a search for "Rough Idle" to find it for sure. Lots of good information and pictures too. Made my truck run like a brand new machine, only thing it cost was about 4 cans of throttle body cleaner and 12 bucks worth of gaskets from the Ford dealer, and a 12 pack. Keep posting here, we'll help ya out!

Green_98...Thanks for the reply. I'll do the search for your thread and start playing inside the truck to take care of this annoying problem.

Love the looks of your '53.
