More Power!!!

I have a 1997 F150 with a V6 and 187,000 miles. Im looking to add more horsepower to my truck without spending alot of money....Im not looking to hot rod the truck just when I step on the gas, to feel more power....Any ideas??? Any help would work....

Also I was wondering if there was a website of a book that can show me step by step to install aftermarket gauges like oil, temp and volts...

thanks alot....

There's not much that can be done that will be really cost effective and give significent power gains.
For gages, oil line is plumbed into the port ahead of the original sender unit using fittings ,nipples and TEE.
Temp gage into a water passage that has enough depth for the sensing bulb.

Take a look at this gauge. I don't have one but it would be nice to have. I know there is a thread on this awhile back.

I think the first step is making sure that you've done all the proper maintainence. You won't gain hp but might get back some that has been lost.

Things to think of might be: 02 sensors, clean EGR, clean injectors, reset PCM. I would guess that there are many things that could be done to get back lost hp.

The chip/tuner will get the most HP per $$$. Used ones from the classifieds here are great for the budget minded.
