"...automatic 4R70W Transmission..." or E4OD

Two different automatic transmissions.

E40D is the heavier duty of the two.

Transmission identification. Sometimes, 4R100 and E4OD are used interchangably. A 4R70W in a nutshell is an AOD-E with a wide ratio gearset.
