Rough Idle - New Engine?

Took my F150 to the Ford dealership today because it was idling a little rough. Never dies, don't smoke or use oil, gets the same gas mileage it always has and runs like a scalded dog other than the idling problem. The truck is a 97' with a 5.4 L and has 135,000 miles on it. Again no other problems.

The dealership calls and tells me I need a new engine. The service rep did not have all of the details and the technician had alreadly left for the day.

This sounds really bogus.

Anyone have any thoughts? BTW the dealership is Bohn Ford in New Orleans.

Thanks!

Sounds like it needs new plugs, injector cleaning, or IAC valve cleaning, not a new engine. I'd ask for a futher explanation about their diagnosis, (unless they want to do it under warrantee).
