I'm new to this site with this being my first post. First off, great site and Kudos to it's developer. I apologize if this question is in the wrong section. I just bought an '04 F 150 Supercrew 4X4 with the 5.4L. I hadn't even noticed it lacked a hitch (tow package) until I got her home. I checked with the dealer on a price of the install and they quoted me $350 for the package. Well, not liking that price I bought the hitch for $111 from Ochterbeck and had to have it installed due to the '04 requiring you to drill into the frame for any receiver hitch installation. Now, I can't find the wiring harness for the truck. I like the style you could buy from any parts store and plug into the wiring system; however, evidently no one has them yet for the '04's Anyone know of a retailer selling them for under Fords $96 chage?

You should go back and ask your dealer what is included in the package for the quoted price.
Theres a lot more to it than just the hitch and the harness.
Trans cooler, heavier battery capacity, hitch, harness, extra relay in the engine bay etc.
$350 may not be a bad price installed.

The "Tow Package" with the '04 F 150's is basically just the hitch and wiring harness. The truck already has the Transmission cooler and plug/play electric brake hookup.
