Mysterious clip in pcm plug in (dash)

Ok guys, I took this (clip) out about a month ago, It was as if I bolted on 25hp My guess is this (clip) prevents pcm reprogram or re-stricts performance. I know several of you "masters" know, would you tell me please, thanks Bradley

I ain't got a clue. I do know that on my truck, the little opening in the dash right there is where the light sensor is located for the auto headlights. Discovered this by accident when my father stuck his newspaper up on the dash and my headlights came on.

ill get back to you, leaving for work now, but those are not pcm connectors, pcm connectors average 20 or more wires per connector. the clip well shinola happens. Especially when you wearing gloves, they catch everything

Location of that connector??? Happen to know its designator (Cxxxx) from the diagrams?

Can't identify it just from the closeup so can't research it.

I tried to id the wire color codes of blk, pink and lt blue.
From what you say, the blue and pink leads are shorted togather on one side by the clip.
They show up at the PCM but makes no sense so far as far as connection between the colors goes..
I to, can't relate to where this connector is
except under the dash some place.
The photo leaves me with the notion the dash has been taken apart.
The clip is however a shorting clip as well as possibly preventing contact inside the connector.
Saw them before especially in the air bag lead connectors.
There are wire 'options' for the different engine applications.

I do not believe that it is the loop back, there are only THREE pins inside the plug. And I traced the blueprint to pcm...something..I will look more this weekend....but hey thanks for try'n

I am pretty sure the plug you are describing is part of the airbag system. Also I think that if you look at the plug again, the clip will only touch the prongs inside the plug when it is disconnected from the other part of the plug. When the plug is connected with the other part the clip will not touch the prongs. Not really sure what this clip is for, but I am pretty sure that it has something to do with the airbag system. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks, I appreciate any input, I am at a loss. I would say that you could be right. I may have imagined the added performance, as I have been doing other things to the truck. Or it (Bessie) just wanted to run better. Hey, thanks for your 2 cents. I will add it to my jar....
