Hi, I was wondering if NY state is required to repair an emissions problem. Code is PO402EGR. Excessive flow detected. The truck is a 2002 ford and it has 57,000 miles. I hear that It is a law in NY for dealers to repair up to 70,000 for emissions. is this correct?

 

I'm pretty sure the emission controls are warrantied till 80K

 

Your emissions warranty should be in your glovebox. Check there for it and read it. It will tell you what is covered and for how long.

Call a dealer. A good one will tell you.

 

Wouldn't you know it.. The dealer claims that the EGR system is not covered under warranty and only the catalytic converter is covered.
