'89 F-150 I6 oil pressure

My new to me '89 F-150 I6 5 speed (OD) shows zero oil pressure on its guage and the engine warning light is lit. The engine seems to run fine and the dip stick shows the crank case is full.

I bot a Clymer's manual and it is worthless.

Where is the oil pressure sending unit on the "89 I6? Is there a simple way to test it?

How do you check the circut to the dash oil pressure guage?

Crossing my fingers I say thanks for any help.

If you remove the sender and screw a direct reading [mechanical] gauge in you can see if you have oil pressure.

Or just go buy a new pressure sender and replace yours. They do go bad quite often.

Yahoo! A little Sun mechanical guage showe 50# pressure at idle. Don't know if it is accurate but it does show significant pressure.

Thanks for your help.
