97 F150 Engine kills at startup

My 97 F150 V8 4.6L engine dies after cranking. The engine turns over fine but after reving up to about 1100 rpm at ignition, the engine kills unless I maintain some pressure on the gas. All plugs and wires have been changed within the last 2 years and I've also recently changed my fuel pump and oil of course. After playing around reving the engine for about an hour, it starts fine and goes all day. Help!

The idle air controller located on the throttle body is dirty.

A revision to my original post. I changed my fuel filter and not the pump...My 97 F150 V8 4.6L engine dies after cranking.
